Purpose

On occasion USB devices may not be connected to the PC until a reboot of device or PC. This can be caused by a few reasons. This document serves to highlight the possible causes and fixes.

Process

Troubleshooting setups:

1. Check / Replace USB cable

2. Swap USB Ports on the PC, move from back to front or vice-versa

HP Servers / PC have a known issue with USB ports especially attempting to reboot PC with a device plugged.

3. Enable High Performance option under Windows Settings Power Mode
        a. Also under advanced check that USB is not put to sleep

4. Disable Power Save on the USB hub in device manage
